Power outage impacts Lake Shore Hospital

IRVING, N.Y. (WIVB)- The weather in Chautauqua County took a turn for the worst overnight into Tuesday. There were businesses and residents left without power.

Lake Shore Hospital had no power overnight and Tuesday morning. The hospital, in Irving, is no longer diverting emergency room patients to other facilities. Inpatients were not affected by the power outage, because a generator kept heat and power in the building until it was restored.

On Route 20, a Kwik Fill store was without power. The gas pumps were not working for people who needed to fill up.

There are reports of outages in Hanover, Silver Creek and Irving. People are left wanting to know why the power outage happened.
