BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) – The Buffalo Sabres terminated forward Linus Omark’s contract today, ending his brief tenure with the franchise.
Omark, who did not report to the team’s AHL affiliate in Rochester after being sent to the minors, will now pursue opportunities to play in Europe, his agent tells News 4 Sports.
Last week, his agent said Omark did not report so he could find out where he stood in the team’s future plans. Today, it became apparent Omark was not part of those plans.
“It is too bad for both Linus and the Sabres that things didn’t work out better,” Omark’s agent, Kevin Epp, said today.
Omark recorded just two assists in 13 games with the Sabres, after Buffalo acquired him from Edmonton in December in exchange for a conditional sixth-round draft pick.
