Skimming device found at travel plaza on I-90

SLOATSBURG, N.Y. (WIVB) – The NYS Thruway Authority is issuing a warning to plaza operators after a skimming device was found at a travel plaza on the I-90.

Officials say a skimming device, which is used to steal credit and debit card information, was found at one Sunoco fuel pump at the travel plaza in Sloatsburg on February 11. It was immediately removed and officials say it appears it had only been in place for a short time.

The Thruway Authority is calling on plaza operators to increase their efforts to protect customers. provides commenting to allow for constructive discussion on the stories we cover.
