BATAVIA (WIVB)  The Genesee County Airport is getting a $1 million infusion of cash from the state to help cover the cost of a new terminal.

The Batavia Daily News reports that the cash grant, part of 1023 Aviation Capital Grant Program, was part of $7 million available for the entire state and comes a bit of a surprise.

The total bill for a new terminal is expected to run $5.5 million, most of the funds expected to come from the county.

The airport, located on Saile Drive in the Town of Batavia has already received a number of upgrades for runway extensions and aircraft tie-down areas.
