Gynecologist freed on patient, worker sex charges

BRADFORD, Pa. (AP) — A northwestern Pennsylvania gynecologist has been freed on bond after he was arraigned on charges he fondled an office employee and a patient in separate incidents.

Defense attorney Robert Liebers told the Bradford Era that Dr. Abaz Sosic, of Bradford, had no comment on the charges following his court appearance.

The 51-year-old physician was out of town when police filed the charges, and returned only Tuesday.

Police say an office employee claimed Sosic grabbed her rear end and made a sexually suggestive comment to her Jan. 27. After those charges were publicized, a patient came forward to claim she was fondled after an ultrasound in June 2012.

Sosic is an independent physician. His hospital privileges at Bradford Regional Medical Center have been suspended.

Sosic is charged with harassment and indecent assault in each incident. provides commenting to allow for constructive discussion on the stories we cover.
