Man knocking on doors accused of DWI crash

The American Association of University Women Buffalo Branch gave several scholarships during its annual meeting on Monday night at the Christ United Methodist Church in Amherst. The AAUW raises money for scholarships and educational programs during its big annual Used Book Sale in May. It is hard work for this dedicated group of women, many of them former educators, who believe in extending academic opportunities to girls and women.

BENNINGTON, N.Y. (WIVB) – An alleged drunk driver is accused of driving his car into a ditch and then knocking on doors, looking for help. New York State Police say they were initially called to a possible attempted break in scene last weekend on Dersam Road, in the Town of Bennington.

When police got to the scene, they say they found a car that had been in an accident and 48-year-old Robert E. Dehr had been knocking on area residents’ doors. Dehr allegedly lost control of his vehicle, went off the road and got stuck in a ditch.

Dehr was arrested for driving while intoxicated, he a breath sample revealed an alleged .18 percent BAC. Hr was charged with aggravated DWI and moving from lane unsafely.
