Police: K-9 detects marijuana during traffic stop

KIANTONE, N.Y. (WIVB) – New York State Police say a K-9 detected marijuana during a traffic stop on ST-60, in Kiantone, Monday. Police say they stopped the car because of a passenger with no seat belt, and ended up making a drug arrest.

According to police, 36-year-old Michael Thompson had three grams of marijuana in his vehicle. Police say they could smell it when they approached his vehicle.

The Jamestown man was issued an appearance ticket for unlawful possession of marijuana.
