Fluellen chasing NFL dream

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. (WIVB) – Lockport native David Fluellen is one of the local prospects at the NFL Combine this year, trying to live out a dream that started in his backyard as a kid.

Fluellen, a running back out of Toledo, put up some eye-popping numbers during his college career, but had an ankle injury cut short his senior season.

That injury lingered a bit during the senior bowl, but Fluellen says he’s fully healed now, and hoping to run a 4.4 second 40-yard dash at the combine.

ALong with his speed, Fluellen says he intends to show his versatility as a running back, which could be a key to hearing his name called during the draft.

“I try to be more versatile because I try to take bits and pieces from everybody in the league, because everybody can do things differently, so I can bring as much to the table as I can,” said Fluellen.
