Man accused of refusing to allow girlfriend to leave

LAWTONS, N.Y. (WIVB) – State Police arrested a man they say refused to allow his girlfriend to leave his home for over an hour and took her cell phone.

Troopers arrested 18-year-old Lucas Beaver of Mileblock Road in Lawtons on charges of second degree unlawful imprisonment and second degree harassment. Authorities say last Monday, Beaver got into an argument with his girlfriend at his home and refused to allow her to leave for over an hour and took her cell phone to prevent her from calling for help.

Police say when she did get her cell phone back from Beaver and called a family member for a ride, he began throwing her clothing out of the house and hit her in the face with a boot.

Beaver is due back in court later this month. provides commenting to allow for constructive discussion on the stories we cover.
