BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) – People living in Buffalo’s Leroy-Fillmore neighborhood learned about plans to re-develop Central Park Plaza Tuesday night.
After buying the 27-acre site last May, LP Ciminelli has been gathering ideas from community meetings over the past year on how best to re-develop it. Tuesday night, they unveiled their $60 million proposal that will include 600 living units during a forum at Buffalo School 61.
LP Ciminelli Senior Vice President John Ciminelli said, “We’ve got to go through an entitlement process with the city. So as the design evolves we’ll be working more with the city agencies, and the planning departments, engineers, all the other departments of the city to come up with a plan that works not only for our property, but whatever is impacted around it.”
The developer says it still needs the city’s approval and is still gathering input from nearby residents, but prep work on the site should begin this summer.
