Players feel trades are coming

BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) – The NHL trade deadline is Wednesday, March 5th, giving the Sabres a little more than a week to swing a deal. Players inside the locker room – even the team’s coach – feel like changes are on the way.

“It’s so hard nowadays to keep any group of guys together,” said Sabres captain Steve Ott. “In our case, you’re in 30th place. The upstairs definitely wants to make an impact… It starts now, or this time of year, for every team.”

Ott is one of several veterans who could draw interest leading up to the deadline. Matt Moulson, Ryan Miller, and Henrik Tallinder are a few others. provides commenting to allow for constructive discussion on the stories we cover.
