Woman killed in crash after losing control of her car

ATTICA, N.Y. (WIVB) – A Wyoming County woman was killed Wednesday afternoon after losing control of her car, which was then hit by a pickup truck.

State Police investigators say 54-year-old Terry O’Neill of Varysburg was driving southbound on Rt. 98 near Lindsey Road in Attica when she hit a patch of snow and went into the other lane. Her vehicle was then T-boned by a pickup truck driven by 88-year-old Richard Rudolph of Akron, a former Genesee County legislator who served the Town of Darien of area from 1987-2005.

O’Neill was taken to Wyoming County Community Hospital where she was pronounced dead. Investigators say she was not wearing her seat belt.

Rudolph was taken to ECMC by Mercy Flight, but his injuries are not believed to be life threatening.
