BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) – We have a week to see how this plays out, but it certainly appears Ryan Miller is on his way out.
Miller had a fantastic night on the ice Tuesday against the Carolina Hurricanes. He returned from Sochi, got the start, and led the Sabres to a 3-2 win. The strong performance may very well be his last for the Blue and Gold.
Has Miller decided it’s time to go, or do the Sabres just want to go in a different direction? Post-game last night Miller told reporters he’s going to be 34 this year, and he’s trying to be realistic. “There’s only a handful of guys how have played effectively longer into their 30’s. I’d like to be one of those guys, but there’s no guarantees,” Miller said.
Sabres General Manager Tim Murray says he’s already talked with more than two teams, but fewer thaabout a deal for Miller. “The route that we’re looking at is to get value for him, to put him in a position to succeed,” Murray said. He went on to call Miller a “good soldier.”
Jhonas Enroth will start tonight against Boston.
