State hires outside firm to handle allegations

ALBANY, N.Y. (WIVB)- New York State lawmakers are pouring your tax dollars into contracts with an outside firm to handle allegations of sexual harassment.

The move comes after a series of high-profile cases involving lawmakers in Albany. Just last month, State Assemblyman Dennis Gabryszak resigned after several women came forward accused of him of crossing the line.

The state’s contracts with a downstate law firm add up to more than $200,000.
