LACKAWANNA, N.Y. (WIVB) – Two days after she was laid to rest, Lackawanna Police say they have made an arrest in the murder of Tequila Suter.
The 26-year-old woman was found stabbed to death in her apartment on February 16, a day after not showing up for work. An arrest was made Thursday but no information has been released.
“I really can’t get into much detail, but I can tell you a lot of man hours from the police force have gone into this investigation,” said Lackawanna Mayor Geoffrey Szymanski. “I’m not satisfied with having murderers in our city. But I am satisfied that our police force has worked diligently to get to the bottom of it and made an arrest in this situation.”
Friends tell News 4 Suter was a smart, independent woman, who was finishing her master’s degree while working two jobs, one helping disabled adults and the other helping teens who have had children.
Suter’s cousin, Zanisha Suter, said, “She’s a great, great woman and she inspired me and my sister with her great deeds and she just had a big heart and I miss her so much.”
Szymanski tells News 4 more information about the arrest will be released on Friday when the suspect is arraigned.
