Driver arrested for drugs after crash

LANCASTER, N.Y. (WIVB) – New York State Police responded to a crash in Lancaster overnight on the Thruway. Police say a vehicle went into a guardrail and now the driver is facing several charges.

Police say the driver, 34-year-old Lucas R. Gaines, of Albion, was not injured in the crash. Police say he appeared to be under the influence of drugs, and then failed field sobriety tests.

Gaines was carrying 15 grams of hashish, ketamine and ecstacy, according to police.

Gaines is facing several charges, among them are four felony drug charges.
