McKinley boys, Wilson girls advance

BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) – Defending state champ McKinley will once again play for a sectional crown, topping Hamburg tonight. The top-seeded Wilson girls were also among the teams advancing.

McKinley topped Hamburg 49-37 behind Varin Lenard’s 16 points. The Macks will take on Williamsville South in this weekend’s A-1 sectional finals, after the Billies took care of business against North Tonawanda, winning 62-49. That sectional championship will take place Saturday night at 6:30pm.

In the girls’ B-2 bracket, top-seed Wilson topped Southwestern 33-27. Wilson moves on to face Akron in the sectional finals, with Akron beating Falconer 34-27.
