Buffalo State professor wins nap pod for project

BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) – Teachers at Buffalo State may get to sleep on the job, but parents, don’t worry. It’s a good thing for students. The school has won a luxury nap pod for the office.

Senior Lecturer Mike Fox was looking to combat sleep deprivation. He lobbied for a departmental napping facility, saying it could ward off irritability and help creativity.

“The intent is to design a research effort around how much time does it take on a daily basis time, meaning time in the nap pod, to increase creative output or creative production,” Fox said.

The project was approved but the school couldn’t fit the nap pod into their budget, so Fox entered into a Dove Men Plus Care contest and won the pod.
