Meeting to focus on Huntley Coal Plant

TONAWANDA, N.Y. (WIVB) – Neighbors will be talking about the future of the Huntley Coal Plant. The Clean Air Coalition is holding a public meeting to talk about a recent report that says the Town of Tonawanda facility should close, or be overhauled.

Huntley is one of New York State’s last remaining coal-fired plants. It employs about 70 people.

Monday night’s meeting is at 6 p.m. at the Grand Island Memorial Library. There are also meetings March 6th at the Northwest Community Center  and March 13th at Tonawanda City Hall. Those meetings are also schedueld provides commenting to allow for constructive discussion on the stories we cover.
