Buffalonians to enjoy Polish favorite

BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) – Tuesday is Mardi Gras, or Fat Tuesday. The party is already underway in New Orleans, one of the biggest parades rolled off Monday night. The festivities will continue until midnight Tuesday, when Lent officially begins.

In Buffalo, it’s not Fat Tuesday with out paczki. The Polish favorite will be gobbled up by the dozen Tuesday.

The jelly-filled, doughnut-like treat was traditionally made to use up all the lard, oil and sugar before the Lenten season.
