Lockport skate center faces foreclosure

LOCKPORT, N.Y. (WIVB) – A Lockport family-owned business, Skateland Family Fun Center, is facing foreclosure for back property tax payments.

The company has posted a message of their business Facebook page saying they may have to close if they can’t raise the funds for a May payment.

Lori and Brian Ferraro say liability insurance, payroll and utilities have made it difficult to keep admission at family-friendly prices.

The couple is two years in the red on property taxes and the property has been listed for sale in the past.

The Facebook posting has drawn a lot of support and ideas for fundraisers. The business has actually grown over the past two years, drawing business from the now defunct Eastern Hills Skating Center.
