ORCHARD PARK, N.Y. (WIVB) – With representatives from all 32 teams on-hand, Khalil Mack and his teammates put on a show today at UB’s Pro Day.
Mack, a potential top-ten pick in the NFL Draft, improved his time in the 40-yard dash from the NFL Combine, running a sub-4.6. He also took part in some of the other drills, with so many scouts and GMs on-hand.
“I knew it was important for me, and my confidence, to go back out and get under 4.6,” said Mack. “I decided to do the drills because you can always get work in, especially if it’s 32 teams watching.”
With the biggest crowd of NFL onlookers UB’s ever hosted, there were plenty of eyes focused on Mack.
“I don’t try to notice that. I try to keep that to the back-burner,” said Mack. “I don’t focus on the attention… I’m out here working hard, and that’s what it’s all about for me.”
Running back Branden Oliver likely improved his draft stock today. His 26 bench press reps would have tied him for the second-most among running backs at the combine.
Grand Island native Alex Neutz, who’s been told he could be drafted as high as the fifth round, suffered an injury during his third 40-yard dash and was unable to finish the drills.
