SALAMANCA, N.Y. (WIVB) – The man convicted for the rape and murder of a Salamanca mother will not see freedom anytime soon.

The state has once again denied parole for 30-year-old Edward Kindt. He was 15-years-old when he attacked Penny Brown while she was jogging on Mother’s Day in 1999.

This case led to the creation of “Penny’s Law,” which set higher minimum sentences for underage killers in New York. provides commenting to allow for constructive discussion on the stories we cover.
