Town giving land for creation of skate park

AMHERST, N.Y. (WIVB) – Plans are moving forward to honor the life of an Amherst teenager.

The Amherst Town Board has agreed to give a quarter-acre of land for a skate park in memory of Alix Rice. The park will be built at the Northtown Center.

Rice was struck and killed while riding her longboard on Heim Road in 2011.
