Sabres swing a trio of trades before deadline

BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) – The Buffalo Sabres made a trio of trades, two of them right at the wire, to wrap up business at the NHL trade deadline.

The headliner is Matt Moulson and Cody McCormick being sent to Minnesota in exchange for a pair of second-round draft picks (2014 & 2016) along with forward Torrey Mitchell.

The Sabres also traded away recently-acquired goalie Jaroslav Halak to the Washington Capitals, along with a 2015 third-round draft pick, picking up goalie Michal Neuvirth and defenseman Rostislov Klesla.

Earlier in the day, Buffalo acquired a pair of prospects from the LA Kings, Hudson Fasching and Nicolas Deslauriers, for Brayden McNabb and two second-round picks. provides commenting to allow for constructive discussion on the stories we cover.
