“HIV Predator” held under confinement law

BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) – Western New York’s so-called HIV Predator will remain locked up. Nushawn Williams had been fighting to be set free.

Even though he has served his required prison sentence, he was being held under New York State’s Civil Confinement Law. Prosecutors say he has a mental abnormality and still remains a threat to society.

Williams served time for statutory rape and was accused of infecting at least a dozen women with HIV in the 1990s.
