Conacher deals with citizenship issues before FL. trip

BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) – Travel issues are tying up Cory Conacher’s trip to Florida, to join the Sabres in their game against the Panthers. Conacher, who is a Canadian citizen, is working to clear up problems he has with the papers he needs, to work in the United States.

Conacher told News 4 he was hoping to get the problem cleared up so he could make it to Florida, but the team revealed he could not make it in time for tonight’s game.

The Buffalo Sabres used the waiver wire to pick up former Canisius College star Cory Conacher. Conacher, who has struggled to score goals this season after a breakout rookie campaign, comes to Buffalo from the Ottawa Senators, the same franchise that current Sabres GM Tim Murray was with earlier this season.

The Burlington, Ontario native has four goals and 16 assists in 59 games this season.
