Driver, passenger face drug charges

CASTILE, N.Y. (WIVB) – Two Castile residents are facing drug charges after a traffic stop in the Village of Perry. The Wyoming County Sheriff’s Office said 27-year-old Jordan L. McMurtry was stopped for missing a stop sign at South Center and South Main Streets.

Deputies say they approached the vehicle and found passenger 36-year-old Kris A. Ruda was in possession of an open beer. Officials say they investigated and found Ruda was in possession of six bags of heroin, one hypodermic syringe, a marijuana pipe and multiple other pieces of drug paraphernalia.

Both McMurtry and Ruda were taken were arrested. McMurtry allegedly failed field sobriety testing and was taken into custody for driving while ability impaired by drugs. McMurtry is also facing drug charges and a traffic charge.
