Injuries sideline Stewart, Girgensons, Mitchell

SUNRISE, Fla. (WIVB) – Just when the Buffalo Sabres seemed to have their roster set, injuries have sidelined three players.

Chris Stewart, Zemgus Girgensons, and Torrey Mitchell will all miss tonight’s game at Florida. All three injuries are not of the day-to-day nature, according to Sabres interim head coach Ted Nolan, with at least one of them potentially season-ending.

Stewart and Mitchell just joined the team within the last week, with both coming over in trades. Girgensons has been one of the team’s best all-around players in his rookie season. provides commenting to allow for constructive discussion on the stories we cover.
