MACHIAS, N.Y. (WIVB) – State Police say a driver who rear ended a vehicle stopped at the corner of Lakeview Boulevard and Rt. 16 in the Town of Machias was driving drunk.

Troopers were called to the scene Thursday and say 39-year-old Steven Howe failed field sobriety tests and had difficulty following instructions. Howe was driving the vehicle that rear ended a car stopped at the stop sign.

Howe, who has a previous DWI conviction, was arrested on felony DWI and aggravated unlicensed operation charges.

He is due back in court at a later date.
