Patrol car avoids crash with alleged drunk driver

BATAVIA, N.Y. (WIVB) – New York State Police say a patrol car avoided a head-on crash with a vehicle on Route 5, in the Town of Batavia, Friday.

Police say 37-year-old Joshua Clark was driving a vehicle that suddenly changed lanes, crossed over the center lane markers and traveled directly into the path of a trooper’s vehicle.

Clark, of LeRoy, was stopped by police and determined to be drunk. He was arrested and submitted an alleged .13 percent BAC.

He was ticketed for failing to keep right and driving while intoxicated. provides commenting to allow for constructive discussion on the stories we cover.
