SUNRISE, Fla. (WIVB) – Michal Neuvirth stopped 42 shots in his Sabres debut, but a pair of power play strikes carried Florida to a 2-0 win.

Roberto Luongo posted the shutout in his first start with the Panthers since Wednesday’s trade, turning away all 25 shots he faced.

Jesse Winchester scored the game’s first goal, courtesy of a four-minute power play – the result of a Marcus Foligno hit that also led to a game misconduct.

Dmitry Kulikov found the net in the third period, again on the power play, to put this one away.

The Sabres host Chicago Sunday night at 7:30pm.
