Student grabbed by man in vehicle, flees

FREWSBURG, N.Y. (WIVB) – Investigators are looking for a man who tried to grab a student walking home from school in Chautauqua County on Thursday.

Deputies say the student was walking north on Falconer Street near the intersection with Howard Street when a late model, boxy, blue-gray passenger vehicle pulled alongside the student. The front seat passenger, a man described as white with a darker complexion who was wearing a red, long-sleeved shirt and ski mask, grabbed the student’s arm.

The student was able to pull away and flee. Deputies say the driver of the vehicle, also described as a white man, was also wearing a ski mask.

After the incident, the vehicle continued north on Falconer before heading in an unknown direction.

Anyone with information should call the Chautauqua County Sheriff’s Office at 664-3100.
