ALBANY, NY (WIVB)- The long-time president of The Buffalo Teachers’ Union is in the hospital.

Phil Rumore has been at the Albany Medical Center for a week. He slipped and fell outside of his home in Buffalo last weekend, and may have suffered broken ribs and a punctured lung.

He’s in Albany because, he tells The Buffalo News, he didn’t initially go to the hospital because of lobby work he already had planned in the state capital. But, he says the pain got worse and he ended up going in last week.

He says his condition is improving.
