Canadian arrested over failure to appear in court

SHELDON, N.Y. (WIVB) – A Canadian man who didn’t show up to court in 2007 over a traffic ticket was arrested after being pulled over in Wyoming County on Sunday.

Deputies stopped Alfred Otoo of Bradford, Ontario for allegedly speeding on Route 77 in the Town of Sheldon. The Wyoming County Sheriff’s Office says Otoo failed to answer a summons in 2007 and his license is suspended.

The 34-year-old Canadian was arrested for third degree aggravated unlicensed operation and speeding.

He was taken to Wyoming County Jail on $200 bail and is due back in court next month.
