Carpenter wants to stay in Buffalo

Kicker Dan Carpenter is set to be a free agent on Tuesday.

News 4 Sports’ Lauren Brill spoke to Carpenter’s agent who said, “Due to the rules in the CBA, the Bills can’t extend Dan’s one year veteran exception deal from 2012, so they have to wait until he is officially a free agent to get anything done with him. I know they really like what he did for them last year, and Dan and his family definitely loved the Buffalo community and being a part of the Bills organization.”

Bills GM Doug Whaley has publicly expressed interest in the kicker. The Bills originally signed Carpenter on Septemeber 3, 2013 following an injury to Dustin Hopkins. Carpenter made 33 of 36 field goals this past season for the Bills provides commenting to allow for constructive discussion on the stories we cover.
