Geraldo Rivera speaks at career expo in Cheektowaga

CHEEKTOWAGA, N.Y. (WIVB) – Dozens headed to the Millennium Hotel in Cheektowaga on Monday, where Cumulus Radio was hosting a career expo.

More than 40 local businesses were there from 9 a.m. until 4 p.m., including Delaware North, Fidelis, and First Student. Former TV newsman turned radio host Geraldo Rivera offered this advice for people coming to find work:

“Put your best face forward. Come, dress pretty sharp, the best you can, come on down say you’re eager to work, you’re qualified, that you have what it takes to fill what these employers have.”

Rivera was a guest speaker at the event, which is part of a national tour called “Putting America Back To Work.” provides commenting to allow for constructive discussion on the stories we cover.
