Students get hockey experience with Buffalo Sabre

BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) – Students from Sweet Home won a pledge drive held by AT&T and the Buffalo Sabres and won a Sabres experience at First Niagara Center.

Senior Connor Beaudet said, “We look up to the Sabres as we’re growing up. I go to all the games here and I’m actually very excited what’s going on.”

The campaign reminds drivers not to send or receive texts while behind the wheel. With Captain Steve Ott recently traded, the students got to meet Cody Hodgson on Monday.

“It’s nice to reward them for all their hard work. It’s a major issue today in our society and we’re trying to raise an awareness, and try to get rid of it,” he said.

AT&T says more than 4-million people have signed their “It Can Wait” pledge.
