Man admits stealing money, intimidating victim

BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) – A Buffalo man admits to stealing money from a woman’s home, and then trying to convince her not to testify against him. Erie County District Attorney Frank Sedita says 30-year-old Maurice Brice has pleaded guilty to four felony charges.

The DA’s office says Brice stole money from a woman’s residence after he learned she had taken a large amount of money out of the bank. He used some of the money to buy a Mercedes Benz. This incident happened on March 26th, 2012.

In July, 2013, Brice tried to convince the victim not to cooperate, according to the DA’s office. Brice admits to confronting the victim and threatening her and her family, if she was to testify.

Brice pleaded guilty to burglary, grand larceny, weapon and intimidating a witness charges. He has a lengthy criminal record and could face up to 30 years in prison when he is sentenced in April. provides commenting to allow for constructive discussion on the stories we cover.
