UB’s McCrea named MAC Player of the Year

BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) – UB’s Javon McCrea is the MAC Player of the Year, after a dominant senior season for the Bulls.

McCrea averaged 18.9 points per game along with 9.8 rebounds a night this year, earning the Bulls a bye into the MAC Quarterfinals, where they will take Eastern Michigan Thursday night in Cleveland. The Eagles topped Northern Illinois Wednesday night to advance.

He is the third UB player to earn the honor, joining Turner Battle (2005) and Mitchell Watt (2012).

The UB women tip off at noon Thursday in the MAC Quarterfinals, taking on Ball State.
