Victim in accidential shooting now facing charges

OLEAN, N.Y. (WIVB) – One of the victims of an apparent accidental shooting in Olean is now facing felony charges.

Shortly before 9 p.m. on Monday at a home on Martin Street, investigators say 24-year-old Logan Cooper accidentally shot his live-in girlfriend, 28-year-old Connie Mascho.

Both victims were taken to Olean General Hospital. Mascho was then transported by Mercy Flight to ECMC, where she remains in critical condition. Cooper was treated and released.

On Wednesday, police charged Cooper with first degree reckless endangerment, second degree assault, and fourth degree criminal possession of a weapon. All three charges are felonies.

Cooper is due back in court next week. provides commenting to allow for constructive discussion on the stories we cover.
