Eastern Michigan upsets UB in MAC quarterfinals

CLEVELAND (WIVB) – Despite an incredible shooting performance by senior Josh Freelove, UB couldn’t connect when it mattered most, falling to Eastern Michigan 69-64 in the MAC quarterfinals.

Freelove hit eight three-pointers in the game, but missed a late attempt that would have tied the game. Will Regan secured the rebound, but turned the ball over.

Javon McCrea, the MAC Player of the Year, topped the 2,000 point mark for his career, but did not have a good night. McCrea went just 2-for-13 from the field, finishing with seven points and 13 rebounds in the loss.  Freelove led UB with 26 points.

Eastern Michigan, the #6 seed, now advances to face 2nd-seed Toledo in the MAC semifinals.
