Fire engine collides with car in Buffalo

BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) – Six people, including four Buffalo firefighters, were injured during a rush hour crash in the city.

Buffalo Fire Commissioner Garnell Whitfield tells News 4 that the crew of Engine 35 was heading to an accident on I-190 when their truck collided with a car at Clinton and Bailey Avenue.

“Coming out of quarters here, they hit the intersection [and] were impacted by a civilian vehicle. We have extensive damage to both vehicles. No life threatening injuries at this time,” the commissioner said.

Two people in the car and four firefighters were taken to the hospital for treatment.

Police are investigating the crash.
