Two police officers hurt in Rt. 33 West accident

BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) – Two highways in the City of Buffalo have been re-opened after separate accidents, one of which involved two Buffalo Police officers, forced them to close.

Rt. 198 West closed at Delaware Avenue around 10 a.m. because of an accident. It was closed for about an hour and a half before crews could clear the scene.

Rt. 33 West closed at Grider Street around 10 a.m. for an accident involving a patrol vehicle. Two officers were injured and taken to the Erie County Medical Center to be treated. Rt. 33 remained closed for about an hour and has since re-opened.

There is no word from police on any injuries in the crash on Rt. 198.
