WEST SENECA, N.Y. (WIVB) – A steel company from Canada is scoping out potential sites for a new plant in the Southtowns.
Business First reports Nova Steel, which is located in Quebec, is checking out sites in West Seneca and Hamburg. The plans would mean a $50 million investment and initially 50-new jobs for the area.
Nova Steel operates 23 facilities in North America. They process and distribute carbon steel, stainless steel and aluminum products.
A decision by the company is expected sometime this spring.
Recently, Alita Steel chose a portion of the old Bethlehem Steel property in Lackawanna for its operations.
