Higgins defends Falls air base as defense cuts loom

NIAGARA FALLS, N.Y. (WIVB) – Recent talk about defense cuts is casting a new cloud of uncertainty over the Niagara Falls Air Reserve Station.

Friday, Western New York Congressman Brian Higgins took the House floor in Washington to stress the economic importance of the base. He’s supporting a plan to build a new customs and border patrol station at the base.

The air reserve station was saved from closing several years ago.
