Gold-winning Paralympians return home to WNY

CHEEKTOWAGA, N.Y. (WIVB) – Paul Schaus and Adam Page got quite the welcome home as they returned from the Paralympic Games in Sochi, Russia.

The two were part of the U.S. sled hockey team that took the gold over Russia on Saturday. Dozens of people were on hand at the Buffalo-Niagara Airport Monday evening showing their hometown pride for these two impressive athletes.

Schaus said, “I was not [expecting this], not at all, but it’s great to see Western New York come together and support us.”

Page added, “”It’s just awesome, to have this kind of support of family and everything and really just shows how Buffalo supports sled hockey here and it’s just awesome.”

Page is from Lancaster while Schaus is a Buffalo native. provides commenting to allow for constructive discussion on the stories we cover.
