Canisius falls in CIT first round

BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) – Canisius reached triple digits on the scoreboard, but still could not keep up with VMI Tuesday night, falling 111-100 in the first round of the CIT.

The combined 211 points make it the highest-scoring game in Koessler Center history.

VMI’s D.J. Covington scored a game-high 37 points, shooting 12-for-17 from the field and 13-14 from the free throw stripe. Rodney Glasgow and QJ Peterson each had 28 for the Keydets.

Billy Baron scored 24 points in his final collegiate game. Chris Perez finished with a team-high 30, with Dominique Raney chipping in 20 off the bench.

Canisius finishes the season with a 21-13 record.
