Parents question school officials over consolidation

BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) – Parents in Buffalo had plenty of questions Tuesday night about the closing of School 115.

The former Pinnacle Charter School will merge with Harvey Austin Elementary next year. The Buffalo School District took over that building at the beginning of this school year. Parents and teachers are upset with the move, saying the children are doing well with things as they are.

School 115 Speech Language Pathologist Tim Agulia said, “We’re not dealing with behavior problems. We have kids here that want to learn. We have parents that are on board that are advocating for us, working with us. It’s really a pretty amazing thing to be a part of this.”

School officials plan to move as much staff as they can from School 115 to Harvey Austin. But it depends on how many students make the transition. provides commenting to allow for constructive discussion on the stories we cover.
