Second person dies after Clarence Center fire

CLARENCE CENTER, N.Y. (WIVB) – A second person has died from a fire on Goodrich Road in Clarence Center Sunday night.

Flames broke out shortly before 9 p.m. and firefighters found two victims unconscious in a second floor apartment. Charles Deppa, 45, was pronounced dead at the scene. Denise Hackrott, 51, was taken to ECMC, where she succumbed to her injuries on Monday.

Fire investigators say the blaze was accidental and caused by an unattended stove.
